Texas State's Uphill Battle for Attention
When University of Texas System Chancellor Francisco Cigarroa unveiled his nine-point action plan for the system's future last week, it was national news. Local lawmakers came to hear him deliver the speech. Numerous outside groups, and even Gov. Rick Perry, praised it.
None of that happened when Brian McCall, chancellor of the Texas State University System, did almost the exact same thing — a week before Cigarroa.

Well when you are over charging and teaching things that should not be gayness crap. And when illegal aliens get discounts that Americans do not. I would say I hope all parents refuse to pay for there child to go to your place of higher learning.

You could learn a few things at any school.

gypsy,
So you oppose in state tuition for capable Texas residents? You are at odds with Perry.

How can we fire the incompetent trailing spouses hired by the university? We do need an outside power to evaluate them correctly. University policies are written to protect the professor (i.e. the institution), not the student.

How doe his team's graduate rates compare to UT's? There is no way they could be worse. Of course, they may still have some "student athletes" unlike UT's "all pro" line-ups.....When Brown goes 3 and 9 this year maybe UT will get a coach who actually cares if his players graduate...However, since the sole goal is to win games, that is not too likely.

"... Aggies as a mascot"? The A&M mascot is a collie.
