Exoneree, Still in Prison, Demands Compensation
A Texas man who was wrongfully convicted of murder and spent more than a decade on death row says he is entitled to compensation under the Texas Wrongful Imprisonment Act. But the state comptroller’s office, which oversees the payment of compensation, says that because he is not a free man — he is serving four life sentences for sexually assaulting four children — he does not qualify.

Hate to say it, but his case isn't that much different than the guy on parole. He wouldn't be in jail now if it wasn't for the wrongful conviction. Pay him the money. That way his family can't collect welfare and he can't molest kids anymore. Taxpayers will pay either way, but at least this way we're getting something for the money. A perv off the streets and the knowledge that the law is flawed and needs to be fixed.
