Updated: Bradley Withdraws Motion to Rush Morton Case

Williamson County District Attorney John Bradley this afternoon withdrew a motion he filed on Wednesday asking the court to quickly finalize its decision to exonerate Michael Morton.
The filing drew quick criticism from Morton's attorneys, who worried that Bradley was attempting to stymie efforts to investigate allegations of prosecutorial misconduct.
In the two-page withdrawal motion filed today, Bradley wrote that his filing to expedite the dismissal of the case "was a simple misunderstanding of the terms of the agreement" he had made last week with Morton's lawyers.

"On Monday, Travis County assistant district attorney Buddy Meyer said the suspect is not yet under arrest and he didn't expect an apprehension in the near future. "It’s a cold case that we now picked up and we’re going forward on and there's a lot of prep work that needs to be done," Meyer said."
Exactly how much preparation needs to be done to pick up a suspect they have DNA evidence on for TWO murders? Travis County has has 23 years to do prep work on the Baker case. Meanwhile, the murderer is still free to commit even more crimes. Christine Morton and Debra Masters Baker deserve justice.

That smarmy DA fought the reversal EVERY STEP. You'd think he'd be on the side of Justice, not fighting to keep an innocent man in jail and covering the DA office's a$$. Pure BS. Get an ETHICAL DA in there and restore SOME confidence in the 'justice' system.

D.A. J. Bradley and atty. Anderson (now a judge) both need to be in prison for 25 to life with no hope of parole. They should be required to wear pink tights and pink panties at Polunsky Unit. The State bar needs to grow a pair and bring our Un-Justice System to a halt... by example. If it does not start now, then when? Since DNA began in 1994, 274 inmates have been exonerated in the U.S. and 47 in Texas! Unfortunately, several were exonerated after they were executed. When is the justice going to begin?

So who is actually surprised that Bradley, who covered up Perry allowing an innocent man to die by the state is now doing the same thing for his office and a judge that he regularly tries cases in front of. That smell is the rotting festering corrupt justice system that is Williamson County. Justice for the victims? It would appear Bradley does not place justice and the pursuit of truth as major priorities for Williamson County
