So let me get this straight: making divorce easy isn't a threat to the institution of marriage? Just playing devil's advocate here...

I have a copy of the letter from Wallace Jefferson. Yes it looks like the Supreme Court ignored the family lawyers and the bar, but I'm proud of Bob Black and the State Bar for siding with attorneys not politicians. The legislators and politicians I know assume the bar will always be fractured and divided and thus weak, but that is changing and will change further during the next two bar elections.
Let's be honest, most of the court members are not legal scholars, they are political hacks appointed by Rick Perry, and we know how smart Perry is.
We will have our day.

This is a bad idea. Have any of the Supreme Court Justices ever practiced family law? I didn't think so.

Justices Eva Guzman and Debra Lehrmann both practiced family law and served as district judges in family courts.

Lerhmann showed up and told some family lawyers she was with them. Guzman didn't. Should we expect anything from a Perry appointment. I consider Phil Johnson a friend - the rest are basically worthless.

By the way I'm basically non-partisan and like Ron Paul but Perry has embarrassed the state enough with his mouth however as I see the work of his appointments, in Corpus Christi Area and elsewhere - it only gets worse.

Very good, hopefully this will be the snow ball down the mountain side. Finally the citizens are starting to pay attention to the fact that Family Law is often the new Jim Crow. If one wants OUT of a marriage we can't stop that but we CAN have equal custody of the children and not reward anyone for voiding the relationship

We may not agree on the issue but everyone here is smart enough to know that V.A.W.A. will pay for certain folks legal bills. In fact, by claiming domestic violence you can fast track your citizenship app. Just ask the prostitute in the New York hotel who tried to setup the French presidential candidate.
