Lubbock Judge: Obama Re-election Could Prompt Civil War
A Lubbock County judge is making headlines after suggesting that President Obama might hand over sovereignty of the United States to the United Nations, possibly igniting in a civil war.
In an interview with Fox 34 News in Lubbock, County Judge Tom Head said that if re-elected, Obama was "going to try to hand over the sovereignty of the United States to the U.N. Okay, what’s going to happen when that happens? I’m thinking worst case scenario here. Civil unrest, civil disobedience, civil war maybe. We’re not just talking a few riots here and demonstrations. We ...

Glad to read this guy decided to shut up on the subject for 24-48 hours.

Revolution is indeed coming...be it quiet or violent...but it is still coming.

The UN would be hard pressed to take over an uninhabited island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Not really sure why anyone thinks the UN has the power to do anything like this. This judge sounds like a complete wacko.

More reason to never , ever vote for a Republican for any office ,any time ,any where.
The GOP has been hijacked by ignorant and arrogant.

The thing i don't get about the gop is that they talk a big game about smaller government but when they get elected they don't do shit about it. they're just butthurt that a democrat is expanding the size and scope of government instead of them.
Jennifer White via Texas Tribune on Facebook
Sad part is I know people who believe this kind of crap.

Once again, makin' Texas proud!

Dumb as a bag of doorknobs. This guy would poop his pants at the first sign of insurrection.

simply unbelievable

This isn't funny. I feel very sorry for his family and for all Lubbock County employees and residents. He reminds me of Brigadier General Jack D. Ripper (George C. Scott's character in Dr. Strangelove) There is no way to be rational with paranoid, delusional people; he should be relieved of duty.
Bill Kerr via Texas Tribune on Facebook
How do we get to this point?

This sounds a lot like he's threatening the President. Perhaps the Secret Service should have a chat with him.
Susan Redus Buentello via Texas Tribune on Facebook
One theory I've heard espoused is that this is all a ruse to make the tax more palatable. But really--who would choose to sound this ignorant in public?
Judith Susan Conley via Texas Tribune on Facebook
I agree with Joy- this might incite others to consider violence towards Obama and family.

AK Republican Party called for armed insurrection last week...this is the new meme, it seems. So, uh, where's Homeland Security right now? We get arrested at the capital for chalking the sidewalk.
Lance Culbert via Texas Tribune on Facebook
We honestly can't say this idiot is representative of the Republicans in Lubbock. I imagine there are plenty of Lubbock Republicans who are plenty embarrassed he is spreading his particular brand of crazy...

I think we will have four more years of moronic statements like this one.

"County Judge" is not primarily a judicial office. The office is effectively the county executive. So rather than "A Lubbock County judge. . ." your copy should read: "The Lubbock County Judge. . ." What you have implies he is elected to a statutory County-Court-at-Law bench which hears misdemeanor cases; when, in fact, a majority of Lubbock County voters have chosen this moron to run their county government.
Connie Campos via Texas Tribune on Facebook
True! Watch out Americans.
Betty Seymour via Texas Tribune on Facebook
Aren't these treasonous statements?

I'm sure Lubbock county would be the first stop in the UN's USA domination tour schedule.
First Lubbock then THE WORLD! <insert evil laugh>

If judges, who with years and education under their belt think to this extreme, there is little hope.

sounds like someone in Lubbock. After all, why would we not believe that the American public has any snse or ability to focus. The paranoia of the right isas is always does, overtake even the frantically constructed campaign of distortions, information manipulation and weaknesses of character of Nixon, Limbaugh, Hannity and the White Supremacist's strategies. Let'snot even talk about Glenn Beck. Even Lubbock would struggle to meet his poorly framed view of the world through opaque glasses.

Could happen, if everyone cannot vote! Something to worry about. Hope your hubby or wife are of the same political party.

Another idiot caught in state and national media running his mouth, thinking that the whole nation is as stupid as he is. Plus, he looks ignorant in that Texas flag tie. I cringe every time I see one of those ties, knowing the wearer is likely to be a dumbass.

When you are an elected official, you cannot even hint at encouraging violence. He needs to be relieved of his job immediately

Judge Head said something off colored??? So surprising!
Harold L. Parkey via Texas Tribune on Facebook
Making Texas proud! People like this guy, George Bush and Rick Perry is why Texas has such a bad reputation. Why not call the judge and let him know what you think about his comments. His phone number as listed on the county website is 806-775-1087.
Harold L. Parkey via Texas Tribune on Facebook
This guy is even in charge of mental competency hearings. The county website says: •Conducts mental competency hearings and other mental health related duties prescribed by law . Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. I feel so sorry for the people of Lubbock.

Could someone please take this idiot off the bench? (and then ask who put him on it in the first place. )? wonder how fair and impartial his decisions are.
Gary L. Moore via Texas Tribune on Facebook
If Lubbock (the Hub of the Plains) wants to be this way, then I'll avoid spending any money within the county.
Mance Bowden via Texas Tribune on Facebook
For our non-Texans, he is not a judge in the holding a trial type of judge, he is head of county government, like a Mayor, but with much less power.
Michael Snyder
Wow! Some medical miracle: a Head with no brain! Why do we give mentally ill people such access to the media?

If Obama and democrats are re elected I would be willing to bet a civil war happens because Americans know what Obama and democrats have plan to destroy America. I just hope all Americans can see Obama and democrats for who they are and were they plan to take America down the tubes. So fellow Americans choose wisely and let send Obama and democrats home. This is the only peaceful way.
Hannah Katz
A more likely scenario is Romney wins, then the Obama Regime refuses to relinquish power, citing some trumped up emergency. B.O. reminds me more and more of Robert "President-for-life" Mugabe.

We have the means for Revolution. VOTE. If you DON'T vote then you have no say. I for one enjoy the extreme views of these guys. Texas has left the poor and down trodden to die. These extreme views add fuel to the fire that for ever action there is an equal and opposite reaction. And Texas will swing back to the bipartisan state we are. I am neither a Dem or a Rep. I am a Texan and I vote for what is best for Texas. The Teaparty's self indulgent and ME ME ME attitude aint Texas. We need more wackos like this guy to come forward and to be seen for what they are. Let's make Texas about Texans again.
If this guys are truly Christians and believe that life begins at conception then if they are aborted then they go straight to Heaven. Proverbs talks about leaving a murderer alone to his/her own conscious. So if that is the biblical view then lets help out the 4 million people in Texas that don't have enough to eat. They are here now and need help NOW. If Christianity is about serving your fellow man then....... How is denying low income women health care the right thing to do.
Let's take Texas back from the uninformed and the narcisistic groups that feed on themselves and leave the facts for other people. "IM BY GOD RIGHT AND MY NEIGHBOR BILLY SAYS HE AGREES AND IM GOING TO SHOOT YOU FOR TRAMPLING ON THE CONSTITUTION. RICK PERRY IS GOD AND HE IS ABOUT STATES RIGHTS. AND YOU DON"T HAVE THE RIGHT TO ABORT NUTHING BUDDY AND THOSE 4 MILLION STARVING PEOPLE IN TEXAS? I DON"T OWE THEM ANYTHING AND IM NOT FOOTING THE BILL AND THEY CAN MOVE TO OKLAHOMA FOR ALL I CARE. Come on Mary Beth get the kids were late for Church."
WOW Just one more cup of cawfee and I think I will be ready to face the world.
God Bless Texas

Standard right-wing wackjob. Too uneducated to understand that the UN has no power.

The Trans Pacific Pact will allow companies doing business in the US to circumvent US courts in faavor off international tribunals.
The proposed UN Arms Treaty would allow the UN to control sales of all weapons including small arms.
The judge may be a looney, but in some respects he is correct.
Beverly Kurtin
The theme song from Twilight Zone was going through my head as I started to read this account, but the tune changed to Looney Tunes. Apparently, those ignoramuses are totally ignorant of the Constitution of the United States. Do they REALLY think that POTUS is that powerful? Our presidents have power, but not to the degree for which the judge and sheriff think they do.
One of the fun thing I do is ask people how much a president can spend with taxpayer's money. The correct answer is not a dime; only Congress can spend a penny. The Taxpublicants have been spending money like old time cow pokes on pay day. They spend every dime they can get their clammy paws on and then blame the president.
No American president can turn over our sovereignty to anything, let alone the impotent United (Arab) Nations.l

The man is obviously mentally ill. Don't scorn him. Show some compassion, put him in a straight jacket and get him a BIG dose of ObamaCare.
Christine Lund
If this isn't an example of the lack of mental healthcare in this nation, I don't know what is. Somebody lasso that nut and put him in a place where he can't hurt anyone. Doesn't he have any friends that will help him? Do they think it's funny to cause someone to have such paranoia and fear? The "War of the Worlds" promotion approach didn't work well the first time. Take a break and wait for the disclaimer.
