With 198 legislators on the ballot next year, there ought to be more fear in the air. But only a few are in obvious political trouble.

Who's on the list, and what makes them vulnerable?

  • If Kristi Thibaut just beat Murphy last year, how is she classified as a sophomore? She is still in her freshman term.

  • I've been asked how I got to 198 legislators. 150 House members + 32 U.S. Reps. from Texas + 16 state senators on the ballot (there are 31, with 15 on the ballot one year, 16 the next). That's 198.
