Opinion: A Call for Early Forecasting and Warning Systems

The many recent weather related disasters in Texas demonstrate the need for early forecasting and warning systems, which will require effective policies at the state and federal level, as well as citizen involvement.

The many recent weather related disasters in Texas demonstrate the need for early forecasting and warning systems, which will require effective policies at the state and federal level as well as citizen involvement. The state has made progress in dealing with its susceptibility to droughts, floods and hurricanes, but improvements will be necessary to deal with a growing population. (Texas Water Journal)
