Environmentalists Oppose Proposal for Texas Water Grid

A proposal to study the possibility of a statewide water grid that would distribute water across Texas is facing opposition from the Lone Star Chapter of the Sierra Club, the largest environmental group in Texas.

A proposal to study the possibility of a statewide water grid that would distribute water across Texas is facing opposition from the Lone Star Chapter of the Sierra Club, the largest environmental group in Texas. The measure failed in the recent legislative session but is still being pushed by its proponents. Ken Kramer, who is water resources chairman of the club, says that the state first needs a comprehensive study of water conservation and efficiency.
