Blanco River Expert Finds Lessons From Flood

A 2007 study of the Blanco River watershed predicted that the basin's urbanization would create a higher likelihood of flooding.

A hydrologist who studied the effects of urbanization on the Blanco River watershed in 2007 says the modeling she did almost 10 years ago predicted that this level of flooding would have a 10 percent likelihood if the basin became widely urbanized, and that those predictions didn't take into account changes in the rainfall pattern from climate change. That study can be found here. (The New York Times)
