Will the Devil's River Survive Drought and Development?

The Devil's River — known as the state's cleanest river and harboring a number of endangered species — has been hit by drought just like most other rivers in Texas. And like those others, it is also vulnerable to overpumping.

The Devil's River — known as the state's cleanest river and harboring a number of endangered species — has been hit by drought just like most other rivers in Texas. And like those others, it is also vulnerable to overpumping. Its protectors are now looking to fend off potential threats to its purity from development, fracking and the proposed drawing of water from Val Verde County by the city of San Antonio. (KSAT-TV)
