Comal Springs to Get Extra Monitoring

As the drought continues, waters from the Comal Springs will receive extra monitoring, including evaluations of endangered species and their habitats, through the Habitat Conservation Plan created by the Edwards Aquifer Recovery Implementation Program.

As the drought continues, waters from the Comal Springs will receive extra monitoring, including evaluations of endangered species and their habitats, through the Habitat Conservation Plan created by the Edwards Aquifer Recovery Implementation Program. Waters will be checked every two weeks rather than twice annually. The aquatic species and vegetation to be evaluated include Texas wild rice, the Comal Springs riffle beetle, salamanders and fountain darters. (KGNB AM)
