The three new medical schools in Texas set to open their doors by 2018 should help Texas' physician shortage, but they may not solve the challenge of ensuring there are enough residency slots for students. The funding for those residency positions comes from federal, state and private money, although a new measure at the state level will help fund new residency slots. (D Magazine)
