Arizona Treasurer Jeff DeWitt opposes a new measure that if approved by voters will increase the percentage of money K-12 education receives from the state's land trust. Currently, public schools are funded with a 2.5 percent distribution for the trust, and the proposition would increase it to 6.9 percent over the next 10 years, giving an extra $3.5 billion to state schools. (Arizona Daily Star)
