State GOP Stands By New Immigration Position
Texas Republicans are defending themselves against claims by Democrats that portions of a recently adopted GOP platform policy are little more than a move to pander to Latinos.
In doing so, Republicans are also highlighting divisions within the party on immigration matters.

Texas solution" guest worker program... just another 'Big Lie' by the GOP. How dumb do they think the Latino community is? If you want to attract the fastest growing minority, start by supporting improved access to health care instead of being in the back pocket of the insurance industry. Hire more teachers and embrace bilingual education instead of cutting the chance for our kids to succeed. Enforce environmental rules so kids that grow up near refineries aren't breathing toxic air.
Like elephants, Hispanics have long memories and don't forget what the 1% have done to them. Republicans have a long way to go before you persuade this group to vote with the likes of Governor Perry.
