Perry, Democrats Spar Over Immigration Policy Shift
Is Gov. Rick Perry's opposition to Barack Obama's newsmaking pivot on immigration a policy shift of its own?
Supporters of the stalled federal DREAM Act welcomed Friday's news that the Obama administration will begin issuing work permits and granting relief from deportation to some young immigrants brought to the country illegally as children. The same people have lauded the Texas law that allows some illegal immigrants access to in-state tuition at public universities and state financial aid.
Though Perry has publicly defended what some call the Texas DREAM Act, which he signed into law in 2001, a ...

Once again, Perry proves himself an idiot, apologies to idiots.

And yet, Perry supports the dream act, which would help keep the very same group of people in this country that Obama is helping in this decision.

This is exactly why Republicans will not win the Hispanic vote.
And for the Hispanic Republicans out there... I don't get why you even exist.

There he goes again! 'Ol Rick Perry was for this before he was against it ...or is that he was against it before he was for it...or was it someone help me ...I forget...where's Ron Paul when I need him to help me remember. You know Rick Perry he's gonna say what he has to to keep himself against anything Obama wants. The is the same "Deer in the headlights," "streaking Texas Turkey" who flamed out over the nation proving to everyone his incompetence and ineptness in governing.

Don't let Constitutionality of selective enforcement get in the way of your wants and desires (in an election year). Go all dictatorial and demand what will get you the most votes!
No matter which side you stand on the actual policy on this, realize the next president can simply reverse this; it is hardly a long-term policy. And a President Romney could just as easily refuse to enforce the tax laws or Obamacare if this were to stand.
It WILL be struck down as unconstitutional; not for the policy, but because of how it is being done. And it will pretty well destroy any bipartisan support for addressing it long-term. Of course, Obama doesn't care becaue this is ONLY about getting himself re-elected.

ALL law enforcement is selective law enforcement! Why do you think no one from Wall Street has gone to jail, even though theft there is rampant? Because Wall Street pays for politicians' re-elections. If Obama wants to have official priorities in immigration law enforcement, he certainly can. It would be nice if they prioritized white collar crime a little more. It won't happen,... they're all bought.

Mike Openshaw, Romney has already promised to refuse enforcement of Obamacare, using the same technique for which you criticize Obama. Romney said he would give EVERY state a special waver from implementing Obamacare. No difference... except whose ox is getting gored.

"And it will pretty well destroy any bipartisan support". What bipartisan support? There hasn't been any effort from the GOP since Obama was elected. Mitch McConnell stated that the only goal of the GOP was to defeat Obama, the country be damned. If you want to talk about unconstitutional then let's look at 8 years of George Bush and start with the Patriot Act.

Actually, Mike, it is the GOP who are pandering to the Hispanics with a fake Dream Act to get their vote. They lie like coon dogs.

The GOP/Tea Party fears the Hispanic majority.
