Miller was first elected to represent House District 59 in 2001 and served six terms in the Texas House. During his tenure, Miller chaired the Agriculture and Livestock Committee and the Homeland Security and Public Safety Committee. He authored the abortion sonogram bill in the 82nd legislative session. Miller also served on the Agriculture Policy Board and was appointed to serve on the National Energy Council. He graduated from Tarleton State University in Stephenville.
