Join us for a light lunch and a discussion about the 83rd legislative session with state Sen. Kel Seliger and state Reps. John Smithee and Walter "Four" Price at West Texas A&M University in Canyon.
Seliger, R-Amarillo, was first elected in a 2004 special election to represent District 31 in the Texas Senate. He serves as the chairman of the Higher Education Committee. He also sits on the Open Government, Education, Finance and Natural Resources committees. Seliger is co-owner of Lake Steel.
Price, R-Amarillo, was elected in 2010 to represent District 87 in the Texas House. Price currently serves on the Appropriations, Redistricting, Licensing and Administrative Procedures, and Transparency committees. He also serves on the Sunset Advisory Commission. Price works as a partner at Irwin, Merritt, Hogue, Price & Carthel, P.C., a business law firm in Amarillo.
Smithee, R-Amarillo, is a senior member of the Texas House first elected to represent District 86 in 1984. He is the chairman of the House Insurance Committee and serves on the State Affairs Committee. He received his bachelor's degree from West Texas State and his law degree from Texas Tech University.
