Randy Neugebauer was sworn into Congress on June 5th, 2003 following a campaign that focused on conservative beliefs in a lower tax burden, strong national defense, a solid farm bill, and Christian family values. Rep. Neugebauer has proven to be an effective legislator.

He serves as Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations which has oversight authority over components of the nation’s housing and financial services sectors. Randy is a member of the House Agriculture Committee and also serves as a member of the Science and Technology Committee. Through his seats on these committees, he is able to develop policy that supports the district’s diverse interests, including local agriculture, financial institutions and energy providers.

In addition, House Republican Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has tapped Randy to serve as an Assistant Republican Whip; he also serves on the Republican Policy Committee and as a Regional Chairman at the NRCC.

Randy’s conservative leadership has received national attention. Several watchdog groups have recognized and supported his conservative philosophy. Randy has consistently been named a “Top House Conservative” by the National Journal, “Hero of the American Taxpayer” by Americans for Tax Reform, given the “True Blue Award” by the Family Research Council, the “Spirit of Enterprise” award by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and status in the Hall of Fame of the U.S. Border Control.

Randy’s public service is guided by his steady Christian faith. His personal relationship with Jesus Christ plays a pivotal role in his life. Randy served as a deacon at the First Baptist Church in Lubbock and supports Focus on the Family and Campus Crusade for Christ. Randy defends the rights of unborn children and traditional marriage between a man and a woman, while opposing efforts to push God out of the public square.

Randy has 32 years of business experience in which he gained a clear understanding of the difficulties small businesses face. Prior to his election, he served as the president of a land development company in Lubbock. His business experience aided him in six successful years of service on the Lubbock City Council.

Randy was raised and spent most of his life in West Texas and earned a degree in accounting from Texas Tech in 1972. He is happily married to his high school sweetheart, Dana.
