Representative Ken Legler is a business owner who was elected in 2008 to represent HD-144 in the Texas Legislature.

The Pasadena native has served as a board member for the Chamber of Commerce and economic development organizations in the area.

Legler began working at Houston Wire Works in South Houston after graduating from high school and later became president. In 2001, he and his wife bought Houston Wire Works, which he first started working for out of high school. They have since established other small businesses in Europe and Mexico. As governor, George Bush appointed him to the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality Advisory Board for Small Business and he was reappointed by Rick Perry.

Prior to his election, Legler served as Chairman of the Federal Environmental Protection Agency National Advisory Board and as a board member for the Texas Association of Business and the National Federation of Independent Business.

Legler is married with three children and one grandchild. He and his wife attend Zion Lutheran Church in Pasadena.
