Senator Craig Estes is the chairman of the board of Estes, Inc., a wholesale distributor of chemicals and fertilizers. The fifth-generation North Texan began representing SD-30 in 2001.

He currently serves as chairman of the Agriculture, Rural Affairs & Homeland Security committee and vice chair of the Senate Committee on Natural Resources. He also serves on the Business & Commerce and Finance committees. Estes has previously served on the Senate Select Committee on Redistricting. Furthermore, he served as a member on the Public Education Funding, Public Safety, and Articles VI & VII subcommittees.

He is the former president of the Texas Agricultural Chemicals Association and has served on the Young Life Committee of Wichita Falls, on the boards of directors of the Rotary Club of Wichita Falls, the Wichita Falls Boys Club, and the Wichita Falls Faith Mission.

Craig was elected West Texas Chapter Chairman Of the Young Presidents Organization in 1994 and to the group's board of international directors in 1996.

He graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1971 and Colorado Mountain College in 1973. He completed his studies at Oral Roberts University and received a B.S. in business administration in 1977. He is also a 1993 graduate of the Harvard Business School Owner President Manager program.

Estes is married to the former Jennifer Huff of Wichita Falls. They have three children, Abby, Andrew and Mark.
