Allen Vaught is a practicing attorney and decorated war veteran first elected to represent HD-107 in 2006. He currently sits as vice chairman of the Veteran Affairs Committee and is a member of the Criminal Jurisprudence Committee.

The native Texan graduated Baylor University in 1995 with a B.B.A. in accounting. In 1997, he earned his law degree from the South Texas College of Law.

Vaught is the managing attorney of the Dallas office of Franklin, Cardwell, & Jones, P.C.

A 2001 graduate of the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School at Fort Bragg, NC, Vaught was a reserve Captain assigned to the U.S. Army Special Operations Command and assigned to civil affairs and psychological operations missions. He served in Iraq from April 2003 to March 2004, and commanded one of the first units to enter Fallujah. In Fallujah, he was responsible for operating the local government and supervising programs to help its people.

Vaught was hit by an improvised explosive device and small arms ambush during a mission and fractured his back. He was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army Reserve. He was also awarded the Combat Action Badge, Valorous Unit Award and numerous other awards for his service.

Vaught and wife Donna, son Jonathan, and daughter Morgan live in Lakewood Heights in Dallas.
