2010: Shapleigh endorses Bill White

Houston Mayor Bill White hasn't even announced yet that he's running for governor. But state Sen. Eliot Shapleigh, D-El Paso, is already endorsing him.

Shapleigh, who has been the speculation of many gubernatorial candidate conversations, said he was "very excited" to endorse White.

"Under his proven, responsible leadership, our great state can finally deal with the challenges of our times," Shapleigh said.

No word yet on what that means for Shapleigh's own statewide plans. We'll keep you updated.
