Texas A&M University announced on Wednesday that Aggie fans will be able to hear complete coverage of the school's football games in Spanish this season via a new radio network.

Operated in cooperation with Learfield Sports’ Texas A&M Sports Properties, which holds the media rights for A&M athletics, the new Spanish network will have radio stations in San Antonio, Houston, El Paso and McAllen. Games will also be aired on satellite radio via Sirius XM and streamed on the internet.

"It is vital that we are reaching all of our fans in the state, from the valley to the panhandle and El Paso to Texarkana," Texas A&M University System Chancellor John Sharp said in a statement. "The demographics of Texas demand that the only [Southeastern Conference] team in the state be heard by all fans who want to enjoy the competition in the country's best league and follow their favorite team, Texas A&M."

The radio network intends to air all 12 of the team's regular season games as well as any postseason ones. There are currently 55 radio affiliates that broadcast Aggie football in English.

“Our Spanish Network is a brilliant addition to cater to many fans who are faithful Aggie followers and part of a fast-growing demographic in the state of Texas," Eric Hyman, A&M's director of athletics, said in a statement.

Pedro Vela Almaguer, who previously worked for Univision in Houston, has been tapped to serve as the network's play-by-play broadcaster. Alberto Rodriguez, who currently works for Univision’s 104.9 in Houston, will be the color commentator.
