In the first campaign ad in his bid to succeed Comptroller Susan Combs, state Sen. Glenn Hegar, R-Katy, promotes Texas' "business climate and our unwavering support for the unborn." Hegar is in a crowded race for the Republican nomination. State Rep. Harvey Hilderbran, R-Kerrville, former state Rep. Raul Torres and former gubernatorial candidate Debra Medina are also campaigning for the seat. Democrat Mike Collier recently entered the race as well.
