Legislation Would Transform Texas Water Development Board

Paul J. Weber of The Associated Press reports that new changes to House Bill 4, which deals with water infrastructure projects, would overhaul the Texas Water Development Board. The bill now proposes replacing the six-member board with three full-time members and would require regions to prioritize projects. The reform, however, hinges on a November vote in which Texans will be asked to sign off on a new water fund that has been proposed as part of a budget deal struck between House and Senate lawmakers.
