On the Texas-Mexico Border, a Puzzling New Trend
Officials have noticed an unusual trend along the border recently: more undocumented immigrants turning themselves in. Though the exact cause is unclear, some say the sequester might have something to do with it.

This article made me laugh out loud. You have got to be kidding me! Let's see how this piece came to be: Obama's political advisors threaten chaos if Republicans don't cave on the "Sequester". Obama sends out directives to his political hacks and government agencies to trump up claims of the horrors of "Sequester". Head of Border Patrol Union makes up laughable fantasies in Texas. Joy Diaz dutifully presents at the Texas Tribune. How humiliting that you would attach your name to this embarrassment.

So people cross the boarder illegally, get detained by ICE and then get released with in the U.S. boarder? story didn't explain whether or not that is true, just a bit from an agent saying "we are protecting America" (a claim that is so general that anyone from Trojan condoms to the CDC could make it)
maybe expand on the story and explain, does ICE release people here illegally within U.S. boarder or not? If they do, why bother catching them or having ICE exist at all? If they don't, are undocumented folks just perpetually confused about this or what?

@ Brian Shelley: You seem to be really grasping for an explanation that comports with your ideological prejudices.
Here's a hint: if you hear hoofbeats, it's probably horses, not zebras.
