At the quarterly meeting of the Texas Lyceum, I interviewed Erick Erickson of RedState.com and Joshua Treviño of the Texas Public Policy Foundation about the evolving influence of conservative media.

Erickson may say that he knows how politics words, and maybe he does... but he certainly doesn't know how Texas Govt. works! The key example to that is he claimed Dewhurst "ran on Rick Perry's record." That is false. Rick Perry endorsed Dewhurst because he KNEW Dewhurst was a key player, if not THE key player in making Texas the number one state in the country today!
However, people like Erickson come along and act like they know it all, they take their big platform (or semi-big) and misuse it, and distort the truth! That's the worst part about where our politics is going today. People believe opinion types, but not academic or people who actually know our a government works! People could've supported Cruz if they just simply said they merely wanted to, but they were lying if they said Cruz was more conservative or that Dewhurst was not a conservative. Based on how Texas Govt. operates, you can see that this conservative economy comes from Dewhurst (and others of course). To act as though he was running for Senate on Perry's record is flat out ignorant.
People need to learn how Texas Govt. operates! If they knew, the lies about Dewhurst would've fell flat, and they should have.
Ok, rant over :)

David Dewhurst was not backed by the establishment. He was not backed by Rove (Cruz is part of the Bush old guard anyway, so Cruz is much more the person Rove would've backed). He was backed by Texans, people who know how Texas Govt. works, etc. That comment is why Erickson is a ignorant person.
