• Sen. John Cornyn leads push for Obama to drop Chuck Hagel’s Defense nomination (The Dallas Morning News): "Sen. John Cornyn, an early critic of Chuck Hagel’s nomination for Secretary of Defense, stepped up the pressure today, sending President Obama an open letter urging him to withdraw the nomination 'in the interest of national security.' Fourteen other GOP senators joined the letter, including fellow Texan Ted Cruz and his fellow tea partiers Mike Lee of Utah, Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania, Marco Rubio of Florida and Tim Scott of South Carolina."

I'm sure the President had a good chuckle before he appropriately filed this away.

Sorry to use farm animal words, but these two senators are pieces of shit, cowards, cronies and embarrassing to both the law professions and the State of Texas.

I think they have delusions of being Col. Travis drawing whiskey-empowered lines in some nowhere sand in an 1830s Mexico with muskets in hand. They're f*&^ing ridiculous compared to a decorated war veteran like Chuck Hagel.

Sad that these two continue to make the great state of Texas look foolish

Morons both of them. Vote their asses out of office next go-round. Cruz is already off to a riproaring start. NBC Dallas poll yesterday has his approval rating down to 48% and continuing on a downward spiral.

WTF does Cruz know about military service and national security? He just got there. I've looked in vain for their military records but it appears neither served - Cornyn touts his father's military service in WWII on his Senate website. So their claim to respect combat duty is a backhanded way of despising it and diminishing the honor of those fools who put their asses on the line in blighted conflicts in hard places. Not a thimble of courage between the two of these sorry excuses.

While your personal anxst against Chuck Hagel is noted, it compels lesser esteem and is further noted you are voting against a member of your own party based on personal grudges rather than stately more nobel reasons which are nonexistent.

Someone PLEASE explain to me HOW it is these type of people represent our state? WHO votes for them? Too bad impeachment doesn't apply to senators...

These representatives of Tx are almost identical to the fervor adopted by the religious zealots of the Spanish Inquisition. The Europeans have it right when they call TX the ''Gulag State'' more to do with the mindset that is pervasive among the Political Class

Please note the following, from John Cornyn’s own website (from a news release dated Feb. 7, 2008)
“These nominees have offered themselves for public service and deserve a simple up-or-down vote in the Senate. It is encouraging to see the President renewing his fight for their confirmation, and I hope our Senate colleagues will join in this effort.
“Far too many judicial and executive nominees have been delayed by the majority party of the Senate. An up-or-down vote is a matter of fundamental fairness, and it is the Senate’s constitutional duty to act on each nomination. It is also critically important to our judicial system and the proper functioning of our federal government to fill these positions.
“Senators have a right to vote for or against any nominee—but blocking votes on nominations is unacceptable.”
Hypocrisy, thy name is John Cornyn. Mr. Cornyn, please resign, we are tired of this childish behavior by you and your party.

How on earth did these two idiots get elected to Congress? They believed a satire website regarding Hagel and tried to claim it was fact? ROTFLMAO When is Texas going to turn BLUE?
Carolyn Mata via Texas Tribune on Facebook
They have a lot of gall. They are not president and it is not their right to choose his cabinet. They are an embarrassment.
