The Big Conversation
Florida Gov. Rick Scott’s about-face on a key component of federal health care reform has turned attention toward Texas and Gov. Rick Perry.
On Wednesday, Scott became the latest — and highest-profile — Republican governor to begrudgingly agree to the vast Medicaid expansion under the new health care law, which will provide coverage for 1 million Floridians.
"While the federal government is committed to paying 100 percent of the cost of new people in Medicaid, I cannot in good conscience deny the uninsured access to care," Scott said in a speech.

Yes, they should. Isn't Scott up for re-election in 2014? Explains much.

Scott knows how to use the health system, he has a record of fraud, feds beware.

If only Perry cared for the Texans especially the children and babies who will die without care, it would be great. We must vote him out of office!

@Mary, he's overstayed his welcome. Texas citizens need the same access. This shouldn't be about politics, or name id, but about getting medical care.

A bill was introduced yesterday into the Texas House that will turn over all Medicaid benefits to a private managed care insurance company. Now my autistic son will have to fight with an insurance company to justify his housing in a group home if that passes. I'm gearing up for the fight of his life, literally. What's more...is the insurance company that will be handed the reigns, has absolutely no experience with housing benefits or the needs of autistics. Bravo Texas! Bravo!!! I will be spending more time in my legislator's office and in Austin.

Katy- is there an advocacy group organizing action? My nephew has a brain injury, just found a suitable group home after years of struggle. I would like to be involved...

The "Streaking Texas Turkey" who crashed and burned in "Oopsville" lost glaringly to Romney in no way wants to give any toasts to Obama who thumped every TEA-quest-traitor decisively last November. Governor Oops-a-lot, known for his sweet-heart deals to bring companies into Texas and transferring lost taxes to everyday tax payers, has no inkling to benefit the most needy. He doesn't care! he never cared! Perry is morphing himself into the governor of "NO" at all costs after his buddy got thumped by Ted Cruz. The coming onslought of new voters into the Texas voting booth will make Texas blue sooner than expected once the Supreme court finishes with Alabama's voter intimidation case. Texas needs to make changes in Austin to fix the errors of the past. "Sweep your state Capital CLEAN....in 2014" "Sweep the House CLEAN....in 2014" "Sweep the Senate CLEAN....in 2014
