The Big Conversation
An onslaught of media scrutiny doesn't appear to have slowed Ted Cruz, who returned to Texas on Tuesday.
Touring a gun manufacturer in Leander, Cruz again blasted the White House's push for stricter gun laws, calling Democrats' efforts "cynical" and saying Congress should instead focus on "deterring and punishing violent criminals."
"You leave law-abiding citizens and their families vulnerable to criminals when you strip their constitutional right to defend themselves," said Cruz, a staunch gun rights supporter who last month brought a pistol grip to a hearing on gun violence.
A flood of press rained ...

What is Ted Cruz's actual plan for deterring violence? Is he planning to spend more money on law enforcement? So far, all I am hearing is criticism for those seeking stricter guidelines for owning guns. Talk is cheap. Show us your plan. It is not enough to just blame law enforcement for not adequately applying current laws. How are you going to help that happen?

Ted Cruz is a sad little man, bought and paid for by the right wing plutocrats and supported by the wing nuts. He will do the GOP great service however in sending them deeply into the dustbin of history.

So baseless slander was a promise he made to his base?

Phillip - actually the only thing I admire about Cruz was that he shocked the well-financed Texas Republican Party and won as an outsider. Dewhurst thought he was Senator by birthright, and Perry felt as though his anointing of Dewhurst in the final weeks of the campaign guaranteed the seat.
Having said all that, Cruz is obviously in Washington more to be a contrarian than to work for the people of Texas.

But he's accomplished nothing!

"Right wing plutocrats"...HAHA. Low information voter.

We are puzzled by your uncooperative and uncivil behavior.

If Sen Cruz does something the anti American left wing liars of our decadent propaganda media approve of, then he is not doing what I hired him to do. Good job Ted. Journalism in this country died a long time ago, all we have now is lying propaganda pimps that would even embarass Gobbels. For you low information Democrats with the IQ of a gnat, that was the Nazi propaganda minister.

Lloyd Bentsen must be rolling in his grave. Bentsen was a wonderful Texas senator, known for his moderation and leadership. Long gone are those days with Cornyn and Cruz. It seems like the Texas Republican party is more interested in bickering, than governing. Likewise, Perry is the complete opposite of Ann Richards. How have we gone so low in so little time?

Yeah, Bentsen was great wasn't he. Name one thing he accomplished except to go along and get along while getting richer and richer. All you LIBS who are soafraid of Cruz are right to be afraid. He is an example of the emerging conservative movement that is stirring in America and will not play nice and let you have your way any longer.

"media scrutiny"...who cares! Certainly not those of us who voted for Cruz. We know the vast majority of media are liberal-biased-talking-heads...who talk about everybody else because they are not capable of finding a real job and have nothing worthwhile to say about themselves.
Cruz knows that his voters know that he scares the liberal media (and liberal politicians) because he is sharp as a tack and articulate too...and he uses the Constitution as a battering ram. Those old-fart, dinosaur senators who spent us into $16.5 Trillion debt don't know how to handle Cruz...because he refuses to play their corrupt games. He's out there, baby!!!!!!!!!!!

Cruz's biggest advantage is that 73% of Americans DO NOT trust the U.S. federal government...according to the most recent Pew Research poll. Andy Cohut, Pew president, said on PBS Newshour that 73% distrusting the federal government is unprecedented.
So Cruz can rant and rave against the feds and crony-capitalist/crony-unionist/crony-welfarist politicians all he wants...because he speaks-out-loud for 73% of Americans.
I am an independent voter who voted for Cruz because I am one of the 73% who did not want to send crony-capitalist David Dewhurst to Washington so he could grow our federal debt even more...just like Kaye Bailey Hutchison did.
Did you know that our federal debt was $4 Trillion when Kaye Bailey Hutchison was first elected senator in 1993...and that she retired in 2012, leaving us with a federal debt of $16 Trillion?? She was complicit in profligate spending that increased our federal debt 300%. No wonder she lost to Rick Perry by 25 points in 2010.

@Donald Baker Love your comment that includes, " that would even embarass Gobbels". Who exactly is this Gobbles fellow? There WAS a member of Hitler's inner circle named Goebbels. You would have known that if you had spent more time in school listening to some of those "liberal lying propaganda pimps". It's hard to fix stupid.
