The Big Conversation
The State of the Union may have inspired some real debate in Texas, but a certain musician still managed to steal much of the post-speech spotlight.
Ted Nugent — the hard-rocking conservative firebrand and gun rights activist whom U.S. Rep. Steve Stockman of Friendswood invited as his guest to the address, igniting a firestorm — made no secret of his distate for the president's words.
"My favorite part was when I couldn’t hear clearly," Nugent said after the speech. "Then I didn’t get angry."
But as The New York Times' Jonathan Weisman writes today, Nugent ...

If Ted Nugent is your spokesman, you might want to rethink your cause.

Mine too, when Nugent opens his mouth.

Since when did this guy who urinated on himself to avoid military service learn to use....adverbs?

Who is Nugent?

Why does anyone pay attention to him? He is a joke and it is the epitome of disrespect to invite some one to the state of the union who had to be visited by the secret service because of vague death threats to the president.

I went to a Nugent concert 36 yr ago. My ears rang for three days. Imagine what that noise did to his mind. Scrambled brains.

Loves America but poops himself to avoid the draft-- And claims he would've been the best army guy. Is lying a requirement for cognitive dissonance, or a byproduct of it?

What a jerk he is. But deservedly a Tea Party icon. What does that tell you about, well, classic rock 'n roll?

The only redeeming quality for Nugent, is that every time he opens his hate filled mouth and spews the lies and rhetoric of the tea party, he brings our state that much closer to a two party state. Every time he opens his mouth, he defines today's republicans and violent and racism. When your party's spokesman is an alleged Pedophile, who has called for violence against our President and elected leaders; at some point you better recognize just how irrelevant your party has become.
It is my deep hope Cruz's and Cornyn's vote against the Violence Against Women Act will haunt them for the rest of their career. As to Cruz's remarks regarding Hagel. His comments were inappropriate and frankly, when Cruz puts his life on the line for this nation, then he can talk to Senator's Hagel's patriotism. For Canadian Cruz to question Hagel's patriotism after this man has been awarded the the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, two Purple Hearts, Army Commendation Medal, and the Combat Infantryman Badge, is deeply offensive to those of us who support our military.

Yeah that rough tough rocker Nugent, who hasn't had a song since 1975, sells bullets from his website (probably the outlawed type), looks like hell warmed over, and has no groupies (never had) except crazies loonies, is where I get my post-State of the Union update. Only the loser Steve Stockman hearts Ted. Let's hope Stockman, Cruz, Ted and Cornhole can all get together an pee themselves for our great state and hating women. Yeah--the he-man women haters club!!! Note to Texans....don't read what the rest of the world thinks of us, or you will be scouting around for those aforementioned slime!
