The Polling Center: Cruz Beats Drum on Immigration
As Republican leaders at both the state and national level call for moderation of GOP rhetoric and policy toward immigration as part of their collective soul-searching over the party’s future, it appears that U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz has decided to march to the beat of a different drum. Cruz has stepped up to become a de facto national spokesman for the faction of the GOP that is resisting the comprehensive immigration reform championed by a bipartisan group of his Senate colleagues.
If Cruz seems to be marching out of step with national and state GOP leaders attempting to ...

when all the lakes & reservoirs of Texas are down to 10%, Cruz might wake up and realize voters are feeling the worst drought since the 1950s and acknowledge climate change

I was so frustrated with get-along-go-along crony-capitalist Senator Kaye Bailey Hutchison...who was complicit in growing our national debt from $4 trillion (when she was first elect in 1993) to $16 trillion (when she retired in 2012) that I volunteered for the Ted Cruz campaign (because David Dewhurst is a crony-capitalist politician just like Hutchison). I called more than 2,500 voters on behalf off Cruz...and all I had to tell them was that the only Texas immigration law passed by the Dewhurst senate requires Texas colleges to offer in-state-reduced-tuition for all illegal immigrants; while dozens of pro-enforcement immigration bills died in the senate due to crony-capitalist ties between Texas businesses (who hire illegal immigrants) and David Dewhurst.

Every TEA-Texan knows Ted Cruz is a pseudo-de facto Republican and will TEA-speak for the fringe element which has taken over the once proud Republican party. The Republican party succumbed to Birchers(B), Birthers(B-2), Evangelicals(E), Libertarians(L) and TEA-types(T) who have used the scarlet (R) when running for offices across the land. Here is presented the purest of TEA party types steeped in bigotry and discrimination towards other Hispanics merely because they took a different route to the bright light that beckons them - America. The people crossing into the US from or through Mexico undergo a completely different experience, and they are generally from a vastly difference socio-economic background than were the Cubans. Neither Rubio or Cruz would last 5 minutes in the real world of Hispanics in the US. Neither Ted Cruz nor Marco Rubio are not the anointed ones, but the "Tokens" or "Window Dressing" or "Curb appeal" much like Herman Cain. Both Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio ARE NOT leading voices on the Hispanic immigration debate. Both are window dressing lackeys of the TEA party which has hi-jacked the once proud Republican party of Lincoln and Reagan.

@RUDY GONZALES ; someone not too long ago told you to go back to Mexico and leave your green card at the borders ( if you have one ). Rudy Gonzales ,like always , your brain is under the soles of your shoes, for the reason that you don`t have an idea about Immigration and Illegal Aliens . Rudy Gonzales what are you , a communist, socialist, ?????
Ted Cruz is against Illegal Immigration and Illegal Aliens ;Rudy Gonzales you don`t know what you are talking about so shut up and Learn; Rudy Gonzales You don`t know WE have Laws ,Rules ,Regulations ; you don`t know that it is a crime going to another country without permission and if I go to Mexico just like Illegals do ,jumping the fence, I will be Arrested and Put in Jail; you Do not understand * Illegal Aliens * and Illegal Aliens are Criminals because they broke the Law by Jumping the Fence and coming here without permission and to become a U.S.Citizen #1 you have to have an official Immigrant Visa that allows you to be here and have funds with you to sustain yourself and not to become a burden to the Government ; there is a waiting period of 5 years before you can apply for U.S.Citizenship and you have to appear in a Court District in front of a judge with complete knowledge of the English Language, that is Speak,Read , Write and Knowledge of the Constitution and Legislative,Executive, Judiciary System and you have to have 2 witnesses ( U.S Citizens ) that can speak on your behalf and after successfully completing the test you will take an oat and become a Naturalized U.S,Citizen and you can Vote. This is the Law of the Land. The Problem is that you Rudy Gonzales don`t know the Law,Rules and Regulations of this Land and you speak with the soles of your shoes ; what a Retard .

This is not a serious plan for comprehensive immigration reform; it is a comprehensive special-interest New Year's wish list,in which everyone gets something except the American people. Unfortunately, all Americans get is the bill, which they will have to pay with their jobs and their tax dollars."
Those who do not honor or observe the Law by definition are, LAWLESS people.
We now have a whole class of politicians, who, in the name of 'compassion' are promoting and endorsing LAWLESSNESS.
John McCain recently said, "We can't have 11 million people walking in the shadows in this country". I agree. But instead of rewarding LAWLESSNESS by allowing them a pathway to legal citizenship, lets encourage them go back to their OWN country, where, as legal citizens, they can "walk in the sunshine" with their heads held high. Then, if they wish to 'emigrate' to the United States, they can 'take their place in line', with all the other LAW ABIDING citizens, and go thru the LAWFUL immigration procedures to come to the United States.
HELLO - - - I AM A FLAMING LIBERAL MULTICULTURALIST - - - FROM YONDER HELL
I DEMAND... that you feed, clothe and house me
I DEMAND... well-fair and food stamps until the day I die
I DEMAND... free medical care and via Obama Care that YOU pay for such
I DEMAND... free street drugs and condoms plus needles
I DEMAND... to speak in Ebonics and accuse any in opposition as being racist
I DEMAND... that K-12 including college be taught only in Ebonics
I DEMAND... a cash allowance per month enabling me to buy a fancy automobile
I DEMAND... the 'right' to drive uninsured... with no 'airbag...' and the 'right' to not wear a seat-belt
I DEMAND... a free Harley Hog and the 'right' not to wear a helmet
ARE WE CLEAR ???

Once again, we are being lied too. Enforcement should come first and "legalization" second, if at all. What are we saying to those who applied legally? "Sorry, back of the line for you!"?
What about the disproportionate number of crimes committed by illegal aliens? The funds being spent, illegally, supporting illegal aliens...as in California's running joke of public entitlements that benefit more illegals than citizens?
No, much more work needs to be done and it needs to be done slowly and deliberately. We, the people, do NOT want this to be yet another "you have to pass it to read it" moment. We demand facts first, not the usual lies from the Republican and Democrat "leadership".
Many people who claim that they support amnesty (by any other name is still the same) don't stop to consider the massive drain on our already fragile natural resources, i.e. H2O, productive farm land, clean air, the total environment, the facilities such as schools, hospitals, etc. When those go into ruinous conditions we will be a totally third world country, and by the looks of things, that is already happening in many areas.
The problem we have is that our generous welfare, food stamps, "Dream Act" tuition rates, "motor voter" laws, and so on ad in finitum, are attracting unproductive people. Just a mere few generations ago immigrants who came here, the "...tired...poor," were brave, intelligent, resourceful people who fled tyranny and poverty for economic opportunity.
Obama has refused to enforce the immigration laws we have now. What makes you think he'll enforce new ones if they don't suit his purpose?

Nicely put, Raffaela. And poignant/passionate as well. You too may have family members who have come to America legally (my Mom and Grandma emigrated legally to the U.S. from Mexico; my grandpas immigrated legally from Ireland and Austria; and Grandma #2 emigrated legally from Germany). I used to be a John McCain fan (we are both Naval Academy graduates)...but anymore, he caters to the political whim of the day/week/month. He's striving for respect...while losing it.
My view of amnesty dates back to the 1986 U.S. amnesty immigration law...which allowed 3+ million illegal immigrants a path to U.S. citizenship. At that time, sleezy politicians told us that the immigration laws were broken, so we needed to pass amnesty for 3 million illegal aliens (sound familiar??). That was their solution to fix the illegal immigration problem in 1986. Fast forward 25 years...we now have 15 or 20 million illegal immigrants living in America - and sleezy politicians want to fix this "broken immigration system" by passing another amnesty for illegal aliens.
Fool me once...shame on you, sleezy politicians; fool me twice...shame on me. I refuse to allow the sleezy politicians to fool me twice by passing illegal alien amnesty AGAIN.

7 million illegal workers are in non-Ag jobs that would normally pay from minimum wage to well over $20/hr! Kick illegals out so 14-22 million unemployed legal immigrants and citizens can apply and get back to work and feed their family!
Why should 14-22 million unemployed legal immigrants and citizens struggle to put food on the table when there are 7 MILLION non-Agriculture JOBS being done by illegal workers?
It is not fair that they have their jobs and their American Dream. They should be required to leave and they can take their family with them so they are not separated!
