Senate Finance Grills Doctor on Fraud Allegations
Update, Thursday, Jan. 31, 4:15 p.m.: State Sen. Jane Nelson, R-Flower Mound, grilled a Medicaid provider who told the Senate Finance Committee on Thursday that the Office of Inspector General’s fraud investigations are endangering businesses and denying the owners' due process rights.

sounds like the GOP was using the law as a bludgeon to drive people out of business. We KNOW they can find ways to "penalize" businesses that still allow them to function, they do it for billion$ corporations EVERY DAY

Andrew, the fraud that is being committed is with money that we pay in taxes. Once that money is gone, you are not going to recover. These doctors participation is voluntary in medicaid. They can still practice without the state money.
Is thee room for improvement? Yes. The money lost from medicaid fraud could have been use to help those who really need it.

That sounds like yet another "I'm a victim of my own ignorance" and I hire someone who is also ignorant.
Incompetence is the new "get out of jail card"? All one has to do is read how TX has eliminated the rights of many individuals in the justice system - except if you make oodles of money - then there is an exception.
What many learned is that Ignorance is not an excuse. Did I miss the asterisk that exempts a certain class of folks.
I for one, applaud the FED for finally being actively engaged in Medicare / Medicaid Oversight and prosecution. And for hilarity - I can only suggest that one looks at the cases filed and then see for yourself who requests the delays....oh yeah, the lawyer for the client.
