The Big Conversation

Gov. Rick Perry on Wednesday threw cold water on speculation about a potential 2014 showdown with one of his political allies.

As WFAA-TV reported yesterday, Perry revealed that Attorney General Greg Abbott had told him that he wouldn't run for governor in 2014 if Perry decided to seek re-election.

"Greg is a dear friend," Perry said. "He has said clearly that if I ran again he's not going to be running against me. But that's beside the point."

Abbott's campaign wouldn't confirm whether such a conservation had taken place.

I'm fed up! Texas needs leadership, not a has-been kingpin. We need a zero-based sound budget, not a mish-mash of mis-appropriated dedicated revenues. It'll take years to restore accountability to the damage wrought by the throngs of Perry appointees over the last decade. Perry makes Edwin Edwards look like Ned, in The First Reader.

Gear up! If Perry runs again, Vote out career politicians! All of them! Now is the time to effect real change in Texas! Greg Abbott has no cahunas when it comes to standing up! If Abbott goes up against David Dewhurst or Jerry Patterson, then Texas will stay Status Quo. Texas has been made the laughing post for the nation since Rick Perry, the "Streaking Texas Turkey" flamed out, burned and crashed in "Oopsville." I live in Texas, so laugh at the rednecks, and the Republican-BELT. Let me define that last statement = Republican+Birthers(B)+Evangelicals(E)+Libertarians(L)+TEA-types(T)
