They will continue to dilute the PUF until there isn't enough money to buy a desk for a class room. Keep you paws off of the University's money.

Which University's money? There are many universities that get money from the PUF. So why should not universities in South Texas be afforded the same opportunity?

The state of Texas and its institutions of higher Ed are facilities rich and leadership poor. Walk around any campus and you will view empty classrooms and faculty offices that are vacant most of the time. There should be a push for universities and colleges to make use of the modern public school facilities that belong to us all. The focus on new building goes against the flow of the 21st century university. Take education to the clients and use the excess funds to expand academic support programs that grounded in the community. What an absence of imagination from our so called leaders.

Continued comments: the legislature should require The UT System to make full use of a dilapidated 175,000 sq ft mall that the president urged the board of Texas Southmost College to purchase for $19 million and spend $17 remodeling and it is literally vacant and falling apart. There are over 3,000 parking spaces on site. The UT System must demonstrate that it can construct and manage facilities before we throw more good $$ onto the bonfire of waste that is common to south Texas.
How come everyone is ignoring these resources. What is really needed is more attention to making 100% of our high school graduates either college or ploy meant ready. Enough with all the emphasis on facilities. Does anyone know if Plato and Aristotle had a huge building when they held their dialogues?
