Governor Readies State of the State Address No. 7
Gov. Rick Perry has given six State of the State addresses, outlining his vision for the state and his strategies for each legislative session. Before lunch Tuesday, he’ll deliver the seventh, telling the 83rd Legislature — and the rest of us — what’s on his mind and what he hopes to accomplish along with state lawmakers before the end of the regular session on Memorial Day.
A source familiar with the speech said Perry would advocate spending "several billion from the Rainy Day Fund for a one-time investment in water and infrastructure projects." That mirrors legislative proposals for a $2 ...

With his absolute support of gerrymangering to control the will of the people, damaging women's rights, attacking education, limiting freedom of religion, support for developers, and support for the gun manufacturers, he is clearly, the Texas Dictator.

hans and Another have said it all about this clown. Include Abbott with those remarks and you have covered the leadership in Austin.

He's like the Texas version of Biden minus the creepy grin.
Of course, Biden is the gaffe-omatic.

Our Governor failed to deal with the water problems in this state for years. Now that it's an emergency situation, he wants to take money that should have been spent to prop up the schools, food stamps and healthcare systems to be spent on WATER?????
For decades I've been telling people that we are water deficient in this state. Maybe we should start to think about trading oil for water because we are in serious trouble. With global warming, it is just getting worse and worse each year. Water is unbelievably expensive for the people and cheaper than dirt for businesses. This state is set up to serve only the wealthy. I saw an ad from New York newspaper that showed salaries in America. They showed a sad woman and her two kids at the bottom of the rung at $180,000 a year. So, I suppose those us that make less than $180,000 a year don't exist?

Has anyone ever heard of the DroughtMaster. It's a device like a dehumidifier that produces up to 26 gallons every 24 hours? If everyone had one for drinking water, at least the poorest among us could afford water. The plans for this device was given freely by the man that invented it but I think some people are making them for profit now. Also, be prepared for "California" laws coming to Texas. They cannot cut a tree over a certain size without permission, even on their own property. They are forbidden from saving rainwater. We need to get these rights secured for all time in Texas or only the rich and their slaves will be living here. No one else will have water.

Why can't we save the runoff water in Texas for watering and road work purposes? Why haven't laws and breaks been given to people who use these moneysaving plans? Golf courses are designed so that all the water is recycled. Why aren't our parks designed this way? They could use runoff water over and over. Oh yeah, they can't find a way to make a profit with it? The only things that get done in Texas is when someone with enough money sees a way to make a profit. Our Governor is just not interested in making Texas self-sufficient. All he seems to care about is big business. We need a woman in office, since men have proven that they cannot make a well-rounded plan to take in all of our major priorities. Texans brag about the wonderful state of Texas but it is the worst state to live in for women.
