There is legislative action pending that would solve this issue for everyone. HB 47 would require every gun owner in TX to undergo training upon license renewal.
What I disagree with from RRC is the idea that everyone wants to carry a gun. Would the RRC employees who don't carry guns be forced to be trained, if so, isn't that a " Job discrimination issue"
What most American's are learning is the number of not only Gun Related Deaths but also the number of Gun-related injuries related to the "accidental shootings" from the concealed gun policies.
In this race to have more guns on the streets - many are ignoring the cost of these gun-related accidents that also have a huge societal cost for the treatment and rehabilitation of those "accidentally injured.
Gun Right activist only submit one side of the Cost Benefit analysis - why is that? Ignorance or burying the hidden costs.

I am surely not the only one that remembers that episode of All in the Family when Archie argued that everyone on a plane should have a gun. That was comedy folks, c.o.m.e.d.y we need our politicians to grow up and out of their fantasy lives of cowboys and indians....

Wrong. We need to remove all limits on the concealed carry of firearms by safe, responsible, law-abiding Texans. We should be eliminating so-called 'gun free zones' aka 'killing fields'.

So if these people end up shooting the place up, who do we sue? Everyone? Why should the oil people be armed and why should we provide it? Why do we pay for police, sheriffs, constables and state troopers? Where is this money going to come from? This is a crazy, stupid idea.

The General Land Office has had such a policy for approximately 8 years. We offer CHL classes for our employees at the Stephen F Austin State Office building, and the classes are open to all. Employees are not prohibited from carrying.
