Abbott Announces "Choose Life" Advisory Committee
Attorney General Greg Abbott announced Friday the creation of the Choose Life Advisory Committee, which will make recommendations for the use of funds from the sale of “Choose Life” license plates created by Texas lawmakers in 2011.
The committee was formed in response to SB 257, a bill sponsored by state Rep. Larry Phillips, R-Sherman, and state Sen. John Carona, R-Dallas, which required the Department of Motor Vehicles to create a special “Choose Life” license plate. The program was authorized at the same time lawmakers cut funding for state family planning programs by two-thirds — $73 million — in the 2012-13 budget ...

Question - Are there advisory committees for all of the other types of personalized license plates?

Wasn't this found unconstitutional by a federal judge when they did this in North Carolina?

or will it be like the license plates that are supposed to fund Texas Parks and Wildlife, which only ends up getting a small portion of the money that is raised

More than welcome to not buy the tags if you don't like them. Don't you just love freedom of speech, and commerce?

Abbot went further to say "All tautologies are tautologies." Yogi Berra declined comment.

Great idea! Now use that money to help mothers care for the children that are already here! Great idea! No one wants an abortion so why not get these fathers to pay for the care of the mother and her family while she's pregnant and sell off the mans assets if he can't pay. Then, make sure the payments keep coming until the child is of age. One by one, you can change the lives of all women. And for those that keep having fathering children, shouldn't they be sterilized? Why make the woman the bad person? It's not her fault that many men are animals with any morals at all. Why not use that money to track down the fathers of all children that aren't paying their share? I have a lot more ideas. Like using the money to fund housing for single women with children, tutors and especially for childcare.

Another frivolous issue Abbott has developed to pander to his party's base. Inevitably, unless the state offers an alternative plate, this will inevitably end up as another expensive lawsuit lost by Abbott on his road to take the Governor's Office.

I really hate how women are vilified when it's men that fail to control themselves, it's men that refuse to pay for their offspring, it's men that keep rapists on the street under the guise of 'lack of money, it's men that make the rules and look where it's gotten us! Choosing Life is what every women does when she protects herself from an unplanned pregnancy. What do you mean that state family planning programs have been cut by two-thirds?
Ladies, will you continue to put up with this?

What! More pandering for his race for governor. Shame on you Abbott. But you have no shame.
