Newly installed in their D.C. digs, two rising stars of Texas politics appeared on the Sunday talk shows earlier today. On this morning's edition of "Fox News Sunday," U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, talked guns, economic growth and Chuck Hagel on the first weekend since his swearing in to Congress.

Over on ABC's "This Week," U.S. Rep. Joaquin Castro, D-San Antonio, joined a panel of newly elected House members to discuss the very same topics.
