Ethics Commission Fines Simmons' PAC Over Donations
The political action committee for Waste Control Specialists, which is owned by Dallas billionaire Harold Simmons, was fined Wednesday by the Texas Ethics Commission over illegal political contributions.
The PAC illegally donated nearly $65,000 to 18 state lawmakers — 15 Republicans and three Democrats — in 2011, shortly after the organization was formed. At the time, Simmons was the only contributor to the PAC. Texas elections code requires a PAC to have at least 10 donors before it makes a political contribution.

PAC's are a blight on honest politics and need to be done away with. But our entire electoral system is screwed beyond repair....

Ethics Commission !!! How hypocritical and what a joke. Most P.A.C. contributions are under the table or behind closed doors. The rock under which these greedy corporation puppets hide and take their pay-offs., Mostly R.I.A.A. and M.P.A.A. or other law enforcement sponsored groups are able to buy their very own laws, using these puppets. They are very well bribed by the many other P.A.C.S. There are no ethics as long as these greedy crooks take any contributions from any source other than a citizen.
Of the people By the people and for the people places all these crooks as traitors to the American people and anything that even resembles Civil or social order . Using the law as a tool for the privileged few has always been, and had a dark evil side. Greed ,like cancer destroys all good intentions. The entire republican party needs to be purged from our system. As for myself I intend to vote a straight Democratic ticket. Not that there are not greedy corporation puppets in the Democratic Party, at least they are not so openly anti-American,and pro private interest. The ethics Commission themselves have become hapless and un-witted puppets of these corporations. Now, just a further waste of tax payer funding.

This lib group exposing all this does a good job but neglects the icing on the cake. Simmons no doubt needs lots of cheap labor for his operations...notice how Byron Cook ("soft spot for illegal aliens")scored 5k while other politicians, Poe,Bachmann,Bohac, Murphy, etc..averaged 1-2k. Well could it be because they don't head the State Affairs Committee?
