For Doctors in Politics, Medicine Often Trumps Party
The state's largest doctors association says it can't remember a time when so many Texas physicians held elected office in Texas. But sometimes their medical backgrounds put them at odds with members of their own party.

Dr. SJF, in a nutshell: You are electing a bunch of your own members to take over the world. Bob Deuell is a great person, though, and he is one of the few that will walk away from party line politics in the best interest of the public.
In short, the TMA is trying to eliminate the competition and destroy every person that is a provider who isn't licensed by the medical board and they are doing so by taking over the legislature.

Jeff Cunningham is correct. Dr. Deuell along with Schwertner and Zerwas are making it more difficult to get basic health services but they have no problem driving up costs to help increase income for physicians.
