Lawmakers Revisit Approach to Solitary Confinement
Solitary confinement has been referred to by many names, including "special housing units," "lockdown" and "the hole." In Texas, it's called "administrative segregation," and prison administrators reserve it for inmates considered particularly dangerous, including those affiliated with a prison gang.
While solitary confinement in prisons is rising as a national issue because of concerns about its psychological effect on individual inmates, Texas lawmakers are worried in particular that inmates are released with no transition between solitary confinement and the free world.

Absolutely beyond no doubt corrupt system that makes it way worse then it should be, for much longer than most, without the tools or care to do what's right. I don't know how they sleep at night.

It's all too late for the inmates tortured with solitary. Did you know that there is a building at Connally Unit that is worse than solitary. It's Building 11, my son was put there for Administrative Investigation, the electricity would not stay on, this was during the water shortage in Kenedy, where he was deprived of all mail, property, priveleges, and remained there for a month. Cruel and Unusual Punishment. I reported this to Whitmire and the Ombudsman , I did not receive a word from Whitmire and the Ombudsman as well as said "It's a lie." I wrote 8 letters, describing this unofficial isolation to the Warden, Livingston. Kennedy, ACLU, Mendoza, Bell and the only one that answered was the Ombudsman. So information is received and ignored. My son is not violent, he tries to cooperate with everything.

In one paragraph we are told these are " Particularly dangerous " people , and most probably are.
In the next we are told they are being released ???????????????
There is a very simple solution here,,,,,,,,,,, Do not break the law,,, but then again if you ask them , everyone in prison is innocent. If you can manage to avoid raping , robbing , and murdering your fellow Citizens ,, then you will not have to worry about being placed in segregation.
Another manifestation of the entitlement mentality.. They do not have to earn my freedom or prove they deserve to be treated with respect or dignity , and not like the murderous, raping, thieving criminal they are , preying on fellow members of society like an apex predator. No ,,,, they are entitled to be released no matter what they do ,,, whether their attitude improves or not , whether they have attempted rehabilitation or used their time in prison to hone their predatory skills.
