Texas Parents Opt Out of State Tests via Texas Tribune on Facebook
A bright future for Texas is dependent upon all of us working together to improve the quality of instruction at our neighborhood schools. Charter schools, voucher programs, inequitable funding and high-stakes testing are all barriers to integration and cooperation amongst our children. Excellent article on a subject that desperately needs to be addressed for the economic future of Texas, as well as the US. These children are our future.

Unfortunately, money spent on teaching English to these children, feeding them, clothing them is money that should be spent on helping tax-payer's kids and keeping them above the curve of other public schools around the country. Time spent on Hispanics is time wasted furthering the education of those that have a basic education but must sit back and wait for these to catch up. There is a problem with making things equal: those that are on the low end get raised but those on the high end come down to make that scale balanced. America is spending too much time and energy balancing things while wasting the talents of its smartest ,its brightest.
