Sadler Says Cruz Should Go Back to Canada
Democratic U.S. Senate hopeful Paul Sadler, taking a shot at his rival before the GOP convention in Tampa, made Republican Ted Cruz’s foreign birth a campaign issue Friday and said Cruz's policy initiatives are far too radical for Texas.
“He needs to go back to Washington where he’s from, or Canada, because he doesn’t reflect us,” Sadler said. “I was born and raised here … when you cut me, I bleed Texas. He doesn’t, and I don’t have much use for it.”
Cruz was born in Calgary, in Western Canada, but he grew up ...

Wow, really Paul? Who is more "reflective" of the people of Texas - the guy who is going to get about 60% of the vote in this race, or the guy who's going to get about 40%?
What an idiotic thing to say. So starkly reflective of why the Democrat party is essentially a political irrelevancy in Texas politics today.
Janet Thomas
It's sad to see a really desperate politician. Perhaps poor Paul didn't watch the recall election returns and perhaps he didn't see how many republicans vs democrats turned out to vote. It will be about th same in November. Maybe he bleeds liberal Austin, TX but not the rest of the state.

I don't believe Sadler represents our views, as Texans either. Give John Jay Myers a look. He's the Libertarian candidate for Senate. Look for him, in October, on the Houston PBS show "Red, White and Blue"

The substance and tone of the pre-election palaver suggests that the political processes (and perhaps the parties) in Texas are in failure mode of some sort. Is this the best talent that Texas has to offer for this political contest In the year 2012? Are these candidates addressing the genuine issues of interest to Texans? Are they capable of representing the interests of Americans on the world stage and do they have the potential of becoming true statesmen and carrying on the legacy of the many fine Texans who earned the profound respect and admiration of the nation?
Just who are those folks who are leading Texans these days like the Pied Piper of Hameilin?
Perhaps the Republicans and Democrats should each run a dog named Pavlov and see which one wins!
Fred Blanton
Sadly Sadler doesn't think "Texas" nor represent the views of "Texans." When you're a desperate losing candidate....trying anything only shows your true colors. Ted Cruz's birthplace is not an issue in this race....I believe that his views are just "right."

Saddler should go back to Europe with all his liberals friends do not forget to take Obama!

Saddler is lost he thinks he is in a blue state. California would take a liberal like Saddler he would fit right in with all the fruit cakes and nuts there.

Cruz is an Opportunist. Tthe national nutcases wanted him to run for the US Senate and so they got him on the ticket.
Most of his money came out of Washington given by the Club for Growth. Lots of the money he got came from ALEC and the NRA. Most Texanss these days were in the outhouse when God gave out brains. They do not even protect their own self-interests. Stupid. Unfortunately there is no cure.

Cruz should " Go back to Canada?" This from A Dem who would brand the Tea Party people racists , bigots and Homophobes? I am sure we will hear that from him into the future.
Perhaps he did not think before speaking? Mr. Akin of MO. guilty of having a mouth that runs faster than his brain operates?
Adele,,, Are you actually from here,,, a Native Texan? I would say that quite a few people all over the country vote more by emotion, feeling, and self interest rather than being informed on the substance of the issues at hand and making informed decisions for the greater good. Perhaps ignorance is at work here ,,, but not being butt ass stupid.
A very nasty thing to say about the people of an entire State ,, but then again maybe the notion of exceptional-ism is being erased State by State as well as nationally in favor of Globalism and equal mediocrity. I have no problem pointing out what I believe to be fallacies in other peoples opinions , but try and refrain from calling them derogatory names or demeaning them personally.
Because someone else has a difference of opinion does not make them stupid , if their opinion is based on factual information, and has led them to a conclusion based on rational and critical thought, rather than personal bias or pure emotion. Reducing the political process to a playground mentality of name-calling and finger pointing has led us to where we are today.
While everyone sits around and argues over who forgot to put the plug in the boat,,,, the boat is sinking.

Fun ) quotes
Republicans on Education: Knowledge-Based Education We oppose the teaching of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) (values clarification), critical thinking skills and similar programs that are simply a relabeling of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) (mastery learning) which focus on behavior modification and have the purpose of challenging the students fixed beliefs and undermining parental authority.
Mitch McConnell: 30 million uninsured Americans] is not the issue.
Louis Gohmert (on the killings in Aurura, Colorado.)
There is a war on Christians and the Colorado shooting is a direct result of that war.
We have been at war with the very pillars, the very foundation of this country... and when... you know... what really gets me, as a Christian, is to see the ongoing attacks on Judeo-Christian beliefs, and then some senseless crazy act of terror like this takes place.
Republican Party in Texas: Voter Rights Act We urge that the Voter Rights Act of 1965 codified and updated in 1973 be repealed and not reauthorized.
Todd Aikn : From what I understand from doctors, if it's a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to shut that whole thing (conception) down.

As a Democrat I'm really disappointed in this guy. While he may even have good ideas and would certainly be better than Cruz, he has no charisma. His voice is monotonous, a real snooze. There are so many options of people who would give Democrats a boost. We need someone with energy and a forceful personality to fire up our party! Who picked him, the enemy?

Wow, I see Adele got her DNC talking point memo at about 2:35 this afternoon. You left out the one about how Mitt Romney killed the guy's wife by giving her cancer 6 years after Bain capital shut down the company he worked for. Get with the program, girl.

Mr. Sadler's comments smack of desperation, because he knows he cannot win. But Mr. Cruz is hardly the ideal candidate, either; the wise choice this year is John Jay Myers.

Cruz doesn't represent the Texas I grew up in. He does represent the "current," but long term losing strategies of the right wing of the Republican party of Texas.
donald baker
Sadler does not represent my views. He wants to ban some guns, he is a typical left wing socialist liberal democrat. I will be proud to vote for Cruz and I think anyone who votes for a democrat is an ememy of this country.

Get a clue Paul...Cruz represent American values and visions. You talk like a crony...go back to Canada or Washington rubbish!

I want to hear substance in the U.S. Senate race. For Sadler to tell Cruz to go back to Canada is not substance. It is silliness. Sadler, you can't be a serious candidate with such shallow banter.

Adele,
Please keep your replies coming. You are the best advertisement for voting for Ted Cruz.
Thanks for the good work!

Republicans live in Fantasy Land. They go around hollering "they want to take the country back" And the first thing a thinking person thinks is Where? Back to the George W. Bush and Cheney debaucle.? Back to the invasion of Iraq and the two trillion dollars Bush put on the US credit card for that invasion. More, really but lets just round the figure. Back to the housing crisis and the banking crisis? Back to the Dow Jones Average falling seven thousand points? Back to the Abba Grahab scandel where the American people looked like a bunch of idiots.? I wonder what "back" the Lunatic Squad wants back to. Maybe they are aching to go back to the Katrina disaster and see a photo-op of Bush congratulating Brownie on doing an excellent job. Of course, maybe they are thinking of taking the country back to Clintons' two terms. When everyone in the country was happy and prosperous and the entire country was a happy place. Oh, sorry.... that was the Democrats... oops!

Watching politics for so many years I find it always astonishing that Hispanics will vote against their own self interests.
Republicans never know Hispanics are even in this country except every two or four years when they need their votes. Hispanics get so excited they are even recognized they run out and vote Republican... then they all get ignored again until the next election.
Funny stuff. I remember when George Bush the Junior even spoke a little Spanish to the Hispanics... jeez..they turned themselves inside out. So thrilled. They rushed to the polls to vote for the Republican and then he said "who are the Hispanics?" funny stuff.
Hispanics need to pay attention. It was a Republican who said the first thing he would do when elected to the Presidency was electrify the fence at the border between America and Mexico.
It was also a Republican who said a thousand times he would deport illegal Hispanics if they would not deport themselves. Republicans are running Arizona where Hispanics are persecuted and prosecuted every hour of the day. Insane Republican Sheriff. Numskull Republican Governor.
For profit "Republican" prisons. Everything a Hispanic should admire. (NOT)
Who do Hispanics think is doing all the screaming and chasing and beating up of Hispanics in Alabama. No.... it is not the Democrats.

Watch this video to see Ted Cruz speaking to supporters at at Tea Party Rally in Texas. I think it's important to know the values of the people who have the candidate's ear. http://bit.ly/CruzVid
