Ahead of Election, GOP Assails Democrats on Immigration
A new ad in toss-up state Nevada warns Hispanic voters that a vote for President Obama is a vote for the “deporter-in-chief” — an incumbent who fell short on his campaign promise to enact immigration reform.
"Since he took office, President Obama has broken up hundreds of thousands of families through a policy of massive deportations,” Alfonso Aguilar, the executive director of the Latino Partnership for Conservative Principles, said in a news release. “He has been hoodwinking the American people, deploring the Arizona and Georgia immigration laws as bad laws, while deporting more immigrants than any modern president.”

“(Obama) can’t wave a magic wand and change the law, what he can do is set enforcement priorities. He’s set the enforcement priorities going after the national security risks and not gifted students and veterans. But he can’t, for example, give these folks a pathway to citizenship.”

Conservatives attacking President Obama for anti-immigrant policies? Could this be more disingenuous?

Rs trying to have their cake and eat it too. But can't criticize Obama for his executive order and then say he's bad on immigration. Rs are just trying to suppress the Hispanic turn out for Obama.

fair enough, he has implemented the same polices as the previous president but with a bit more fervor. I was really hoping he would have tackled the problem a bit more head on instead of waiting for congress, but he forced the dream act and that is better than it was before so I guess it's a draw.

This article would be funny if it was not so tragic and duplicitous in it's content:
1. To the T-blicans - you do not get to spend the last three years race baiting over immigration and just before the election blame POTUS for their failure to address immigration reform. You do not get to hold
T-party rallies with bigoted and hate filled posters and signs then blame the President.
2. Claims of Deporter-in-chief nothing more than another t-blican lie. Think Death panels and Weapons
of mass destruction for immigration
3. So despite the fact the repubs have spent the last 6 years opposing any form of immigration reform, just
before an election they pass a non-binding plank in their platform supporting guest workers, and now we are to view them as friendly to immigration and immigration reform? Don't think so!
4. While the 96 law may very well be the major culprit behind the backlog, I would not that despite being signed by Clinton; it was passed by the republicans in Congress in order to get to the President's desk
Since the '08 election, this President and the democrats have called for, urged, and attempted to address the need for comprehensive immigration reform. Since 06, the repubs have eviscerated every attempt, most notably John McCain's call for reform. So, while a t-blican can ignore the facts, rational persons will not have this "luxury". So, repubs, you have talked the talk now your going to have to walk the walk. Good luck with that. You're really going to need it!

The GOP never fail to amaze me. They bash Obama for not enforcing immigration laws THEN they turn around and bash him for enforcing immigration laws. Which is it? Hypocrisy much. Also, THEY are the one's that refuse to pass comprehensive, common sense immigration laws and the Dream Act. THEY are the ones that opposes amnesty, advocates deportation only and to build that damn fence.

Bring commonsense to our nation on restrictions by Obama on drilling for oil, taxes, the Legal Workforce Act and the Birthright Citizenship Bill. We are in control of our future; we either fight or die like cowards.
