Land Office, Agriculture Department Facing Federal Suit
The U.S. Department of Justice filed a lawsuit Wednesday against the Texas Department of Agriculture and the Texas General Land Office, alleging that the agencies are liable for pay discrimination against three women.
The women worked as program specialists in the Disaster Recovery Division of the Texas Department of Rural Affairs, which was absorbed by the Agriculture Department and the Land Office in October. The women were paid annual salaries ranging from $62,000 to $72,522 while men in the same position were paid between $79,631 and $95,157, according to an investigation led by the Civil ...

So the next time Jerry Patterson (& Todd Staples) mentions taking responsibility, remember that when he was confronted with this suit he did not call it baseless. No, his response is "I inherited the problem". Of course, his comments sound like he just found out, however, if this Land Commissioner just found out, he has not been doing his job. By the time his suit is filed, he should know. It's his job. But the truly remarkable thing, is he did not blame the President. You Tpartiers might want to watch your boy Jerry, sound like he might be going all soft on the Democrats.
