Who is Funding the Dewhurst and Cruz Campaigns?
* Clarification Appended
Hey, Texplainer: The two GOP candidates for U.S. Senate keep bashing each other about where their millions of campaign dollars are coming from. So, just where is all that money coming from?
Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst and former Texas Solicitor General Ted Cruz, the two Republican candidates battling one another in a runoff for the U.S. Senate nomination, say the source of their opponent's funding is an important campaign issue.
Which campaign is drawing more donations from Texas voters? Which campaign is dominated by money from out-of-state groups? Neither answer is clear-cut.

This is just nauseating. It's not even about the candidates, it's about the process itself. Our political system has gone completely to hell. Mind you, this isn't even about a Republican versus a Democrat. These guys are both Republicans, and this is what it takes even for two members of the same party to bash each other's brains out. It's disgusting.

The numbers here certainly point out the laughable lie that is Dewhurst's 'PAC man' ad.
Synopsis of the money picture: Dewhurst - Austin PACs designed by him, Big Money Texas interests, big loans to his campaign (which he expects to get paid back when he's in position to do enough favors to the monied interests), NO small donor and rank & file base. Cruz- highly varied sources, including conservative supporting groups renowned for fighting the 'Powers That Be', large small donor, rank & file base; extensive support at all levels, both local and nationwide.

Comments on the Dewhurst/Cruz Tete-a-tete show great consternation on these guys actions and raging war of words. Sad that so much money spent on crippling whom-ever wins. Neither should be elected. Texans should vote Democratic in this race in November. Texas children, teachers, police and firemen are losing the battle for budget cuts while these two stink up Austin. Send both home for their childish behaviors.

The Supreme Court was wrong. How could anyone look at the money funding races, even of losing candidates and conclude there is no appearance of corruption. They both suck. Neither deserves the office. Sadler should be less beholden to big money.

The short answer?
Neofascists.
