City people just don't relate to the fact that beef doesn't come from the grocery store. I have read comments on here that farmers and ranchers should not have AG-exemptions on their land...and without that, they would not be able to keep their land to raise crops and cattle because the tax burden would be so high that they could not stay in business. The profit margin is so small already with ethanol taking all the corn and that sends the price of cattle feed through the roof. We had no grass growing in Texas last year and very little two years before that, so it had to be brought in from surrounding states at four times the cost. If you want food that you can afford to buy then you better support anything and everything that helps farmers and ranchers stay in business.
