Trade Group Aids Texas Gun Seller's Suit Against Feds
A national firearms trade association that boasts more than 7,000 members is helping finance a lawsuit in which a Texas gun dealer is challenging a federal reporting requirement for the sale of long rifles.
The Connecticut-based National Shooting Sports Foundation Inc., whose mission statement is to “promote, protect and preserve hunting and the shooting sports,” is helping finance a legal team for Golden States Tactical, a northern California firearms seller and NSSF member, in a lawsuit that was originally filed by San Antonio-based 10-Ring Precision Inc. The company took action in August after the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco ...

NO ONE NEEDS more that one rifle in the first place! All sales of any kind of gun should be recorded and a report sent to the ATF, it's only logical.

Wait a sec. So the GOP is ok with us needing tigher voter registration laws, but tight gun registration laws are not cool. Let me wrap my head around that hypocrisy.

The Republicans will be out in hordes this summer in Tampa. In Florida where the NRA rules the State. Wouldn't it be Karma if some lunatic made it all worthwhile for a lot of Republicans?
Republicans, with their Bibles and their Guns and their I LOVE JESUS signs might not be so glad they are getting what they want. MOB RULE.
If Tampa's proposed rules for the Republican National Convention are passed, protesters could not bring squirt guns into a designated protest zone.
But they could bring real guns if they have concealed weapons permits.
That's because state law does not allow local governments to enact laws regulating guns, City Attorney Jim Shimberg Jr. said.
"Even if we tried to regulate it, it would be null and void," Shimberg said Monday.
Not that the city didn't consider it.
The first draft of Tampa's proposed temporary ordinance laying out rules for the convention did include restrictions on guns inside the city's proposed "Clean Zone," which will cover all of downtown, including a designated protest area.
"It was just kind of common sense," Assistant City Attorney Mauricio Rodriguez said. "We felt if we're going to regulate people carrying sticks and poles, why wouldn't we regulate people carrying firearms, ?.
However, the ban on guns was removed after finding that Florida Statute 790.33 prohibits local governments from enacting any laws on the sale, purchase, transfer, taxation, manufacture, ownership, possession, storage or transportation of guns or ammunition.
This is interesting, is it not? RULES BY ALEX AND THE NRA.
I guess "WE THE PEOPLE" does not count in Florida or Texas or many other States in this country. And it is only going to get worse.

Mexican drug gangs are running around with machineguns, hand grenades, and rocket launchers. If you go to a gun store or gun show you won't find a machinegun/grenade launcher aisle. Those that came from the U.S. were transferred via government-to-government sale.
Requiring additional paperwork for dealers selling SEMIauto rifles is going to change the situation in Mexico? Right.

[NO ONE NEEDS more that one rifle in the first place! All sales of any kind of gun should be recorded and a report sent to the ATF, it's only logical.]
Canada just shut down its long gun registration system. Turns out it costs millions a year, and never solved any crimes. NYC just shut down its CoBIS handgun tracing system. Turns out it costs millions a year, and never solved any crimes.
Trust me, neither Canada nor NYC defer to the NRA.
[So the GOP is ok with us needing tighter voter registration laws, but tight gun registration laws are not cool. Let me wrap my head around that hypocrisy.]
1. "GOP" does not equal "gun owners." Lots of Democrats own guns, as do lots of independents.
2. I both teach CHL and register voters. The voter ID requirement is silly, but it isn't even close to the requirements for a Texas CHL.
