Gov. Rick Perry appeared on Fox News today to discuss voter ID politics and to reiterate his lack of interest in being the running mate to whoever becomes the Republican nominee for president.

Instead, Perry again voice his support for former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

"He is a clear proponent of the 10th Amendment," Perry said of his former opponent, who wrote the introduction to his book Fed Up!

And what about all that talk about Perry possibly running for vice president?

"Let me see. Texas governor versus VP? The balance on that one isn't even close," Perry said. "I would suggest to you that's deep in the rumor category and I got a better gig where I am, thank you."

Watch the interview below, in which Perry also knocks the federal government for its opposition to the state's new rule that voters show photo identification before voting.
